Education in a Time of Crisis - An Independent Curriculum

"Good parents and good citizens must be attentive to the curriculum which schools are following and to the life in the schools, in order to assure that their children, our children, are being formed in the Christian virtues which have made our nation great and are not being deformed by indoctrination in the confusion and error concerning the most fundamental truths of human life and of the family, which will lead to their slavery to sin and, therefore, profound unhappiness, and to the destruction of our nation."

- Raymond Leo Cardinal Burke, Chairman, Board of Directors, Trinity Academy

We live in a time when true education has been lost, replaced in many schools throughout our nation by a system of indoctrination which seeks to undermine the moral fiber of our youth. This highly dangerous influence seeks to erode the morality, the sense of justice, and the healthy patriotism which have been the mainstays of our great nation.

In seeking out an independent education at Trinity Academy, parents have made a choice which is crucial for the true education of their children. We live in a time when, quite suddenly, the fundamental truths of our society have been taken over by such deceptions as those of the transgender culture injected into school curricula as early as kindergarten, by distortions of the history of our nation through Critical Race Theory curricula which undermine the very foundation of patriotism, by attacks on the family which seek to thrust aside this fundamental unit of our society and to replace it by faceless government control.

In choosing an independent education, such as we offer at Trinity Academy, parents have chosen a school in total opposition to such distorted and frequently evil concepts. At the heart of our independent school lies devotion to the faith, to the Catholic Church, and to the Sacred Heart of Jesus, to the Eucharist, and to Mary and Her Blessed Rosary, passed on to your children by teachers who are themselves devoted to these fundamental truths.

In opposition to the distortions of Critical Race Theory, we teach the history of the foundation of our nation by our Founding Fathers, not because they were perfect, but because they were heroic in establishing a nation which must still strive to be a City on a Hill, a light to all nations. We seek to present to America young citizens who will continue to strive to make this one nation, under God, with liberty and justice for all.

We also present an independent curriculum free from the confusion and the deconstruction of the Common Core curriculum.  We teach fundamental mathematics, sound phonics, and classic literature.  Our mathematics is grounded in the fundamentals of memorized math facts, computation, and mental calculation.  Our children are taught to read through phonics, repetition, mastery of syllables, and spelling.  Our literature at all levels is free from the corruption of content prevalent throughout the Common Core reading curriculum.

Furthermore, we present real books to the students.  We do not present any aspect of the curriculum in electronic form.  We use real textbooks, not Chromebooks; we use real chalkboards, not Smartboards; and we engage in real discussions about ideas in seminar style classroom settings.  Our books are filled with beautiful illustrations, and the walls of our school present thoughtful artworks, surrounding children with models of heroism, childlike joy, and beauty from the earliest grades.

And so, the education of the child’s mind by this independent curriculum, independent of Gender Theory, antithetical to Critical Race theory, and free from Common Core deconstruction, is made possible through a rigorous formation in truth and objectivity.

And why does this matter? Because at each new stage of a child’s life a vocation is being revealed. The word is vocation – a person’s calling. The fruit of education should be the discovery of the student’s full potential, not the indoctrination of a mindless controlled being. Continually ask God what He is calling you to do with the life He has given you. Continually kneel in His presence and ask Him what His plan is for you. Listen. Create time when you can go to Him and ask what He wants. He will most certainly reply. Make time for daily prayer. Place your life in God’s care. Don’t fret. Be at peace. Listen. Let God gradually reveal His plan. Serve whenever and wherever you get the opportunity. Volunteer. Say yes. Give yourself, and God will give the rest.

Why an independent curriculum? Why Trinity Academy? Because every child, especially in this time of crisis, deserves to be truly educated to their fullest potential.

God bless you.
