The Middle School

Division Overview

Middle School students are exposed to a wealth of reading in classic literature, through authors such as J.R.R. Tolkien, Charles Dickens, and William Shakespeare, and enjoy grappling with more complex mathematical and scientific concepts. They also begin the study of Latin and French, and participate in a variety of extra-curricular activities.

Students in our Middle School, 6-8th grades, scored in the 95th percentile, as a school average, on the 2023 Iowa Basic Test of Skills. This test assesses student performance in reading, spelling, grammar, and mathematics. Our results by Grade and Subject can be read here: 2023 Iowa Basics Overview.

In our Middle School (TAMS Program of Studies) the foundations of Western Civilization and American Heritage are stressed. A deepening appreciation for the spiritual and moral teachings of the Church also evolves throughout the higher grades.

  • What Our Parents Are Saying

It feels like Trinity is a hidden gem. Grace loves attending 4K AT Trinity Academy! The small class sizes allow for individualized attention and kids to work at their own pace, and I love that she is learning how to pray and love Jesus in the classroom.

  • What Our Graduates Are Saying

Trinity Academy has greatly influenced my ability to achieve academic greatness and manage a busy school work load. This was important for me because, without the strong and steady academic life I had at Trinity, I would not be able to do the things I am doing now.

-LT. Brendan Lee, Class of 2016

  • What Our Graduates Are Saying

Thank you is not enough to express my deep gratitude for the beauty, the wonder, the awe and the love you have given me during my education at Trinity. You changed my life completely. Thank you. Prayers for you, especially now in these challenging days, and May God bless you always!

-Therese Moen O’Grady, Class of 2003

  • What Our Graduates Are Saying

Trinity Academy was a blessing in disguise when I transferred to my junior year. Over the next two years I learned numerous lessons about life and the Catholic faith that I continue to carry with me to this day. My time at Trinity will forever be a pivotal foundation of my teenage years.

    -Jourdan Reynolds, Class of 2010
